Which drum pieces can AudioPod separate?

Producer (Creator+) returns kick, snare and hi-hat. Studio (Pro) adds cymbals. Mastering (Pro) adds toms. Ride and crash come back together as cymbals.

The decomposition packages are metered at the core rate, 660 credits per minute of source audio — 2,640 credits for a 4-minute song.

Why did I get fewer pieces than the package says?

Every package count is “up to”. A decomposition only returns what the recording contains — no toms in the song, no tom file.

Why is there bass in my kick?

Kick and bass share the lowest octaves and usually land on the same beats. Some low-end overlap between the two is normal on dense mixes.

Can I turn the kit into MIDI?

Drums aren't transcribed yet — coming later.

The Isolate tab has no “kick” to pick — a kick drum is part of an instrument, not one. The decomposition packages are how you get the pieces, and which one you need depends on how far down you want to go.

Separating the drums from a song works on every plan and takes one click. Separating the drums from each other is a different operation: the tool has to split one instrument into its pieces, and that is what the decomposition packages under “Detailed decomposition” on the Split tab are for.

Which package reaches which piece

Every count is a ceiling. The packages also return vocals, guitar, piano and the rest.

Tip

For beatmaking, Producer is usually enough: kick, snare and hats are the pieces people chop. Reach for the deeper packages when you are rebalancing a whole drum sound.

Judging the pieces

Snare and hi-hat share high-frequency noise, so expect some hat in the snare on busy grooves.
Cymbal washes are long; their tails often carry a little of everything under them.
Programmed, dry drums split more cleanly than a live kit recorded in a room.
